ATM Strategic Alliance
ATM Technology Management Allies with Scottish Security Experts, Trusted Management
Partnership to provide SMB and enterprise markets with comprehensive managed security support services
ATM Technology Management, the UK nationwide provider of IT help desk and managed services, today announced a strategic partnership with Fife-based Trusted Management, specialists in security management consultancy. Under the terms of this agreement, ATM will market IBM®’s Tivoli® Risk Manager supported by Trusted Management’s security architecture development services to organisations in the SMB and enterprise markets. Scotland is a strategic market for ATM and this latest partnership represents the company’s commitment to addressing the IT requirements of businesses in this region. Local customers include Aberdeen City Council, The Robert Gordon University and TOTAL E&P UK.
Customers will benefit from a comprehensive range of services managed by a highly skilled and dedicated team, whilst avoiding the need for expensive in-house security specialists. ATM and Trusted Management’s collective experience will enable aggressive targeting of industry sectors, including petrochemical, construction, hospitality, education and local government.
With new IT regulations being implemented in the UK and Europe, IT directors are under increasing pressure to maintain a flexible and secure infrastructure. The constant battle against the threat of viruses, unauthorised access and denial-of-service attacks requires a 24/7 commitment. The necessary security management can be addressed through autonomic computing. This approach relies less on the individual to detect system faults, passing the onus onto a single web-based security console which is self-configuring, self-healing, self-optimising and self-protecting. Tivoli Risk Manager software allows IT departments to centrally manage security incidents and vulnerabilities across the network by automatically assessing potential security vulnerabilities and responding with the appropriate correction. Through this partnership, ATM will continue to provide Risk Manager to customers, with back office support from Trusted Management consultants for instant response to queries as they arise.
"Our security services allow us to monitor and manage small networks all the way up to large complex networks comprising multiple technology platforms," said Paul Overton, managing director of Trusted Management. "The managed service allows many issues to be addressed before a failure occurs thus reducing impact and pressure on IT resources."
"We are very pleased to have come to such a mutually beneficial agreement with Trusted Management," said Neale Stidolph, sales director, ATM Technology Management. "We are now able to offer our customers an extended range of managed IT support services, eradicating the necessity for an in-house security team and freeing up the IT departments’ time, thereby saving the company both time and money."
Security is a rapidly growing sector and ATM is affirming its commitment to serving the needs of SMB and enterprise organisations by forming strategic partnerships with other key players in the market. This collaboration will benefit Trusted Management by extending its products and services portfolio and allowing it to branch out into new market areas. Likewise, ATM will strengthen its impressive portfolio of managed IT services with the addition of a specialised security division.
